Spa pools
Spa pools are sometimes called therapy pools, a reference to their ability to relax and relieve both the body and the mind.
Spa pools are small relaxation pools that come in a standard range of sizes that seat anything from 2 to 12 people.
Larger Spa pools can be purchased, but these are not normally applicable to the domestic market.
A Spa pool should not be seen as an alternative to a regular pool (of any size) as the Spa pool is not intended for swimming, but rather for relaxation.
Spa pools can be bought as in-ground submerged Spas, or as free-standing (above-ground) Spas. Above-ground Spas are usually treated with a side wall or facia that encloses the Spa and gives it a more attractive appearance. Many Spas of this kind adopt an extrenal wood effect finish typical of the Spas of Sweden and north Europe.
Unlike swimming pools, most Spas are bought inclusively with the pump, heater and filter included in the sale price. But, just as with regular swimming pools, careful consideration should be given to the specification of all components of the Spa to ensure a performance that meets (or exceeds) the owners requirements.
